Apache Cassandra is, an open source, NoSQL, schema-less, non-RDBMS, multi-datacenter, distributed, highly scalable, column-oriented database management system (DBMS), written in Java, at Facebook, by two Indians Avinash Lakshman and Prashant Malik, designed to handle huge amount of data spread out across many servers, released in 2008.
